Premier Aut Limited (PAL) re-enterd the market with the launch of compact SUV "Rio" in India on 28th October, 2009. Premier Rio launched wit a very attractive price of Rs. 5.35 lakhs for entry model and Rs. 5.95 lakhs for top end model and compete with Maruti Gypsy and Mahindra Scorpio.The Rio is powered by a 1489cc turbodiesel engine by Puegeot’s TUD5 technology producing a maximum power of 64bhp@4000rpm and 152Nm@2250-3000rpm with Bharat Stage III norms and milaege of 16 KPL.
